    Summer of '07

A visiting German couple temporarily staying in our flat is complaining about only one thing: the weather here in Manila, My Manila is sure hot as hell.

Well, you can't blame them -- their idea of summer temperature only ranges in the 20's (refer to chart at the left showing temperature data for Cologne, Germany) as compared to the hotness that we usually experience here in the Philippines during the peak of summer season that can get as high as 36 degrees Centigrade which I think is not normal.

They asked me if I have ever seen and felt snow. I said I've only seen snow on TV and since I'm not a cold-weather type of guy, I don't intend to personally see and feel snow in the near future. It was only a couple of years ago that I got to set foot on Baguio (the summer capital of the Philippines), for crying out loud.

This afternoon, they left for Boracay and I'm wondering if they think that it would be any cooler there than here in Manila. Apparently, they've gone to Boracay light -- which is the most practical thing to do -- because they left one of their luggages here in our apartment and are most probably wearing their reef sandals, easily taking them off from time to time to delight in feeling the extra fine white Boracay beach sand with their bare feet.

Speaking of beach sandals and beaches, here are some of our archived photos of other fascinating destination beaches in the Southern Islands to where you can just slip on those stylish reef sandals and take off:

Bohol beaches. Less crowded. Comparable to Boracay's.

Tarsiers are animals native only in Bohol.

A beach located in the Northern part of Cebu Island.

And speaking of beach attire, try wearing this: a brassiere made of snake skin!

    Enjoy your summer of 2007!
